9. Cod Fish Tacos, Realm Food Co., Parksville, BC. These were fine! But the real order here is the gluten-free Donut of the Moment (🤩🍩).

8. Quesadillas (aka "Cheesies") I made at home. Freezer burnt but delish La Milpa brand tortillas, Edam cheese, La Costeña green salsa. These hit.

7. Crispy Black Bean Tacos, again homemade. I half-assed the recipe (skipped the food processor, the crema, the pickled onions), used corn tortillas (obviously) and real cheese. Stuck some avocado in there. Tasty. Will attempt the black bean/walnut/mushroom mashup again.

6. Mushroom Tostada, (Black Bean) Sopes, Roti Potato Tacos Durados, Olmo, Brooklyn, NY. Lovely, but subtle. The chileatole is the order here.

5. Pork Belly Taco, PM Tacos & Cocktails, San Antonio, TX. TEXAS SIZED, served with terrific pickled carrots and jalapeños.
